Since childhood, James has been an artist.  Starting with crayons and inappropriate surfaces (most often on walls) he has combined his love of art and antiques to create oil paintings (most often on canvas) based on historical photographs. 

He and his wife Terri (a terrific Graphic Artist) moved to a quiet, small town in southwest Iowa to devote full time to his painting.  With a studio in the Queen Anne Victorian home, the motivation for his antique style surrounds him.
